BIOGRAPHY

Raúl Gutiérrez, born in Mexico, after doing his studies of Architecture in 1957, moves to Guatemala, to work with his father Carlos Gutiérrez who had founded In 1958 “Decoraciones Galerie” a wooden furniture factory. Raúl, continue his studies in furniture design and decoration, in Europe and finish the specialization in Manufacture Classic Furniture.

From 1960 through 1980, he worked as Chief Designer in several projects designing private houses and five star hotels in Central America and in the Caribbean. In 1980, with his contribution, Decoraciones Galerie changed its name to “Galerie International and begins exporting from Guatemala to South America, the Caribbean, United States and Europe.

Following his lead, Galerie International specialize in furniture for hotels with the capacity to produce custom design furniture in series and in large volumes, Raul Gutierrez becomes one of the leading exporters of furniture in Central America.
In the same year, 1980, Raúl, bases its design headquarters in Miami, Florida and called it “Galerie International Inc.” working with renowned American designers and Architects.

For more than 50 years Raul Gutierrez has turned his passion and knowledge in furniture and design into superb work fulfilling the expectations of his customers.

Today, Raul is working with his daughters that incorporated to the business.
